Hopton and Coton Civil Parish
Hopton and Coton as a whole, is a semi-rural parish north-east and east of Stafford, covering Hopton village, nearby residential developments, the Beacon Hill area, Beaconside Business Village, Beaconside Business Park, Staffordshire County Showground, part of Kingston Hill, St Mary’s Gate, and the Redrow Priory Park/Church View areas.
The parish also includes surrounding farmland and green corridors, including a small part of the extensive Sheepwash Meadows. Although the Kingston Pool Covert nature reserve is no longer within the parish boundary, it forms a natural south-western boundary, clearly distinguishing Hopton and Coton Parish from Stafford town.
The parish council works to preserve its distinct identity, manage community spaces, and represent residents in local planning matters. Hopton and Coton remains a distinct historic parish, balancing modern changes while keeping its traditional landscape and heritage.
