About this Group

We are a group of Expats joined for the purpose of helping the street and shelter animals of Kusadasi.

Paws and Claws (Kusadasi Hayvanlara Yardim Dernegi) is established for the primary purpose of providing medical care and medical needs of the street and shelter animals.

Our work is aimed at:

• Primarily, medical emergency needs.
• If funds available spay and neuter animals that have entered our care for treatment reasons. This will be done if funds are available when the animal is in good health.
• Provide food and other care needs for the animal in foster care, to the person(s) providing the care.
• To find homes for street and shelter animals when possible.
• To help and support each other to serve our joint purpose.

Lost and found pets can be posted on the Facebook page.

Our Facebook page is open to all member posts to address issues, problems and share the joys of our animal world.

Any posts on our Facebook group, that are found to be from breeders to sell for profit or any advertisement for profit will be removed.

Zak is a valued member of the Hopton and Coton community. He and his wife, Anne, have been dedicated supporters of this important cause for several years.

Below is an excerpt from the GoFundMe page that Zak has set up to support this charity.

“Hi, my name is Zak. It is heartbreaking to watch the increasing number of animals with added pets being abandoned on the streets as a result of deteriorating economy in Turkiye.

They are desperately seeking human contact. With the new laws allowing, they are often being tortured, killed & injured & their food supply reduced many become malnourished and sick. Paws & Claws started 12 years ago as a volunteer run legal Turkish charity to provide veterinary care for the sick & the injured on the streets as well as food & medication.

As a very small charity, Paws & Claws rely on your donations to make a difference for these animals in real need. This year, with the economy changing in Turkey, we are having a very hard time. Each year, we provide veterinary care for around 500 animals in our small city.

Friends of Animals Wales are a small independent Charity based in South Wales, that try to help animals in need, mainly dogs, cats that are unwanted or vulnerable then find them loving forever homes. A lot of our dogs are ex- breeding dogs who have never known a loving home life. We are very proud of our non-destruct policy.
